Last minute Christmas gift ideas for any tech lover in your life

As we all know, Christmas is just around the corner.

And i bet not everyone has finished their Christmas shopping, so i’m coming to the rescue with some ideas for those last minute gifts, that any tech lover would definitely love.

1.  Touchscreen gloves are a must for anyone that is just glued to their phone, and don’t want to stop using it just because it’s freezing outside.

Here you can find a pair from mujjo.com that will work with any type of touch screen. They provide a snap closure that will make them comfortable to wear , they are knitted with a soft integrated fleece lining and are durable. Compared to other gloves, i like that they do provide a good grip, so you won’t have to stress about your device slipping from your hands.

Price £26.69 , but you can use the code “girltechweekly” to get 15% off if you place your order before 19th Dec. (discount code applies to any product from mujjo.com)

2.  Staying within a lower end budget , here’s a gift for any photographer out there that would like to display their images in a creative way. The KiiPix Instant printer is something a bit different, as it does not use any ink or batteries. smartphone-picture-printer_000000000006146431You simply find an image you’d like to print on your phone, place your phone on top of the printer, press a button and roll your image out.

kiipixphoneIt uses the Instax mini film that can be found at about £14.99 /per 20 shots and it’s quite an interesting little device. Price £29.99 at Jessops.com

3.  If you’re looking for a gift for a gamer in your life, that is loving the retro vibes, i found this Saga Smartphone Controller, that looks quite fun.

It’s only compatible with android smartphones, and comes with over 17 retro games, so that your friend can relive their childhood games all over again. Price £29.99 at firebox.com.

4.  Now if you want to spend a bit more on your Christmas gift, and you have someone in your life that is just loving photography, but they don’t yet have a proper camera, i have a suggestion.

COLYMCM185335466

Yes i know, it’s from Jessops again, but they are the only ones offering this deal that for the same price of the camera, you get a memory card,  jolby tripod, a body jacket and strap for the camera and even a 1 hour tuition in one of their stores.  It might only work for people living in the Uk that have a store close by so that they can take advantage of the 1 h session, but honestly it’s a pretty sweet deal. Price £449.

Not only the quality that you get from the camera is amazing but it’s also really easy to use. It’s a mirrorless camera ( that i explain about here) that your friend or even you ,if you decide that you should make yourself a gift this year will be able to use with ease.

5.  And finally if you already have that friend in your life that “has it all”, because they are already into tech gadgets this next one is something that they will definitely love.

It’s a customizable  keyboard that makes designing and editing so much easier. It’s compatible with all the Adobe softwares and it’s made of aircraft-grade aluminium. You can use the knob to zoom in and out, turn volume up and down, adjust different settings and much more. I know i would love to have one of these. You can order it from here and it’s £65.99.

Let me know what you think of these gifts ideas and which one of them you’d like to get under the tree.

Best digital compact camera

Today i want to talk to you guys about my favourite digital compact camera. This camera has been on the market for a while now, but i love it so much that i decided i had to write about it.

I know buying a camera nowadays can be stressful and confusing, so i’m here to shed some light on the subject.

Tz100 is a compact camera made by Panasonic, and even if the brand might make you avoid it because it does not have a popular name as Canon or Nikon, they have been on the market as long as Nikon had, but they started with something a bit different that helped them improve the technology they put in their cameras as well.

For you guys i pulled out some information about them:

Panasonic Corporation (パナソニック株式会社 Panasonikku Kabushiki-gaisha), formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (松下電器産業株式会社Matsushita Denki Sangyō Kabushiki-gaisha), is a Japanese multinational electronics corporation headquartered in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan.

The company was founded in 1918 and has grown to become one of the largest Japanese electronics producers alongside Sony, Hitachi, Toshiba and Canon Inc.. In addition to electronics, it offers non-electronic products and services such as home renovation services. Panasonic is the world’s fourth-largest television manufacturer by 2012 market share.

Their “TZ” series as far as it goes for compact cameras stands for “Travel Zoom” and they incorporate small compacts with a powerful zoom.

One of their compact system cameras made me question why i have a Dslr and why do i have to carry all that weight with me.

Tz100 is by far the most recommended compact camera at the moment by all tech and photographic websites, and i can truly understand why.

IT’S SMALL BUT SO POWERFUL!

Electronic Viewfinder

Having such a small body and including a viewfinder this camera is the perfect option for the professional or amateur photographer that just wants to enjoy a holiday instead of dragging equipment after them, since it weights only 310 g. Apart from that the body is also impressive with a solid metal construction and being small enough to fit in your pocket.

The settings are all placed in a intuitive place and it makes it easy to play with the camera in full manual mode but it also features a ton of automatic options for those that don’t have the time to fiddle with finding the perfect setting.

For professionals the camera gives you the possibility to save files in Raw format as well as Jepeg so it will make editing better and easier. It also features 49-point Af, a face detection and a post focus function that is my all time favourite. The post focus allows you to take a picture and decide later where you want the focus to be.

The 4 K Photo gives you the option to shoot about 30 fps in 3 different modes :4K Burst, 4k S/S (start/stop); 4K Pre-Burst. This feature is amazing if you’re photographic fast moving actions and you want to make sure you don#t miss that amazing shot. Apart from the incredible speed that you can get from the 4K photo feature, it also does about 10fps in normal mode.

Iso ranges from 125 to 12,800 and is expandable to 80-25,600 which will offer plenty of versatility when taking night shots. But also having a 2.8 lens will also create amazing detailed images in low light.

Video recording is again impressive, with 4K recording capability (at 30 or 25 frames per second) as well as Full Hd at 50fps. The only downside is that it does not feature a mic input, but for general use i’m quite happy with the results.

Overall i’m more then impressed with this camera and i highly recommend it to anyone that wants to have the power of a Dslr in a small compact body.

I’ll leave you guys with some images i took with the camera as well so you can decide for yourselves.
